A great honour for a company from North Rhine-Westphalia: the luxury furniture manufacturer Casa Padrino, with business roots in the Düsseldorf/Essen region, was honoured during the Cannes Film Festival 2025 with a renowned international design award – the award ceremony took place in the exclusive Pavillon Royal on the Croisette, a venue that stands for glamour, style and the highest quality.
The award was accepted by founder Marvin Schertl and Dr. Sina Schertl, who have successfully run the company together for years. The award was presented by, among others, host Alina Kremss and organiser Anna Stukkert, who uses her platform Stukkert & Friends to bring together international creatives in Cannes.
Rooted in the region – in demand worldwide
Casa Padrino stands for exclusive luxury interior design, with a clear stylistic focus on baroque, neoclassicism, Art Nouveau and Art Deco. The furniture, made in selected European workshops, can be found worldwide in luxury hotels, film sets, villas and designer showrooms – including numerous projects in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Essen.
“This award is great recognition for the work of our team and for the craftsmanship we stand for in Germany and internationally,” said Marvin Schertl at the ceremony.
From the Ruhr area to the world of design
What began as a local brand for opulent interior art has long since become an international label – with collaborations including fashion designer Harald Glööckler (Pompöös by Casa Padrino) and clients such as Gucci, Cavalli and Louboutin.
The award in Cannes not only highlights the design standards of Casa Padrino, but also underlines the creative potential and economic strength of the design and furniture industry in the Rhineland.
